Bio
Maria Belderbos is an artist whose work is all about seeing and celebrating people through creativity.
Winner of the Sworders’ Prize Emerging Artist, with her Self-Portrait, “At Home”, Maria received the opportunity to hold an exhibition in Fairhurst Gallery in September 2024 – her debut showing of a larger body of work. Since then, her art has featured in a variety of shows, including the Royal Society of British Artists’ Rising Stars 2025 exhibition, taking place at the Royal Overseas League in Mayfair.
Alongside her visual art, Maria is also a writer and photographer, and bases this wider creative practice around the same concept of seeing slowly, looking deeply.
Now studying a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature, Maria continues to develop her creative practice: taking commissions, teaching classes and exhibiting in galleries and shows. Her interdisciplinary body of work is ever-growing and always centred upon creativity celebrating people.
